Components can be created within the SHIELD interface or imported in bulk. This guide walks through creating through the interface. All asset types are created in similar way.
1. Navigate to the Asset.
2. Click the edit button on the Components header.
3. Click the "Add" icon on the Components table header.
4. Type the component name and select the component type. Component types available are dependent on the asset type.
5. Select material spec.
6. Enter diameter.
7. Enter nominal thickness of component.
8. Enter Joint/Weld efficiency.
9. Once all data is complete, click Save. As all required data is entered, the minimum thickness will be calculated. If user override minimum thickness is required, enter this as the User Min Wall field.
